If your 6-10 year old is interested in music but you…
Then this workbook is for you!
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and I taught private piano lessons to over 60 families between 2013 and 2016. My first son was born in 2016, and I chose to take time off from teaching. During that time, as I was navigating the wild waters of being a mom, (and eventually welcoming our second son in 2019) I developed a passion for understanding child development and how children learn.
I have spent countless hours reading books on and taking classes in psychology, parenting and emotional wellness and now have a much deeper understanding of how the mind (and heart) develop and work - for both kids and adults!
Now that I have opened my schedule back up to take on students I feel excited to blend my years (and years!) of music training with my deeper and richer understanding of children to bring a truly unique, fun and effective experience to learning piano.
My goal with each student is that they learn the fundamentals of music, including technique, artistry and reading music while also finding the joy and self-expression that music has to offers.
Lessons (in-person or virtual) are $25 per 30 minutes. Payments are made at the beginning of each month for the number of planned lessons.
Virtual lessons will take place over zoom and will work just like a regular lesson. We will have a regular lesson time and we will cover the same material as if we were in person.
In-Person lessons are at my house. I am only offering a limited number of these slots. Please get in touch if you wish to discuss this option.
Yes! As long as there is 24 hours of notice, you may reschedule your lesson with no fee.
I have helped many families pick out the right keyboard for their child and their budget. Feel free to reach out and I will do my best to help you.
I usually recommend 30 minute lessons once per week for most students. We can get a lot done in 30 minutes :)
Usually not, but sometimes. Working 1:1 with the child works very well, but in some cases having a parent present is helpful. We can work together to come up with a plan if you are unsure.
Virtual Group Lessons are in the works! Please let me know you are interested when we speak and I can keep you in the loop. These will provide a more affordable option for learning as well as opportunity for community.
